Everyone by now is stuffed full of turkey so I will not get into what I made for thanksgiving dinner.
It has been cold outside for the past couple of days and what is better on a cold day than hot chocolate!
Well hot chocolate is pretty common and get kind of boring after a while so I had been thinking about something different like white hot chocolate actually for about a week or two.
A couple of days ago I had to replace my mandolin slicer at bed bath and beyond, By the way they have the best return policy hands down!
I have replace things there I bought 4 years ago with no questions asked and I didn’t even have a receipt! Afterwards I went to this this cake supply store called NY cakes off 6 ave and 22 st this place is loaded with every kind of gadget, molds, flavorings and chocolates.
As I looked around I found the white chocolate sections I picked up the Verona 2 lb. bar the price was about 27.00 dollars hmm then I saw the 2 lb. bar for 9.95 and wondered how good could this be for this price? So I asked the sales lady about it.
She said the Verona is imported from France the 9.95 is American made but that it was very good!
It was from a large vendor the sell to different company’s like Godiva.
Well if it good enough for Godiva it good enough for me 3 cheers for the red white and blue!
I had never made white hot chocolate before and was too lazy to look up any recipes.
How hard could it be?
I wanted to make about 4 cups of my hot chocolate so I add 3.5 mugs full of milk in to a pot
Then add a half cup of heavy cream I heated it on medium till it started simmering I shaved off about a ½ cup more or less of white chocolate and whisked it into the scalding milk till it was all melted.
Gave it a taste I wanted it more chocolaty so I added a nit more it all depends on your taste.
I do a lot of measuring by eye. Always start with less you can always add more to suit your taste.
Then I added a ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract just for good measures.
Then I tasted it… perfect!
Now everyone loves whip cream on hot chocolate!
But I wanted to do a twist so I came up with chocolate whip cream!
